Dancing With the Star (Monica)

Ever since she was about 18 months, Monica has shown an aptitude for rhythm. When she was 2, it was clear she had a very natural sense of rhythm. And now at 3, with better coordination and stamina, she is showing herself to be a great little dancer. She sings in time pretty well too. Here she is doing some salsa dancing. We do not listen to a lot of salsa, just every so often when I get in the mood to dance as I clean. When we dance I tell her to just move to the music. I don't know any real salsa steps, but she has a natural feel for it. I was impressed! At the end of movies, Monica insists on dancing to the music in the credits. Here she is at the end of "Ariel's Beginning", which was very cute by the way! Thanks for the recommendation Emily!

Later that day, we watched it again, and she showed another side I hadn't seen...ballet/modern! I'm thinking we are starting to see a real talent!

Maybe it's time for Monica to get into a dance class!! My favorite is the first video I am lovin' the chest shaking move!! I can't wait until Julie is bigger and I can teach her some actual moves...she's still trying to figure out how to pick her feet up and stomp 'em! She looks good! Next time we are in town we are definitely having a dance party!

hey...quick question on the "life is a flower" song by Ace of Base...isn't that song "whenever your near me" from their Cruel Summer Album? Just wondering it sounds like someone ripped off their music and some of their lyrics and made up their own song. Si o no? let me know when you get a chance.

same song and lyricist. the original words (life is a flower) flopped, so they changed them and then it was a hit. It's on the inside of their greatest hits collection jacket. weirded me out too, atfirst, but now I like it.

You go Monica! I think she had the step ball change move down! Seriously, you should see about getting her into a dance class! I used to teach 3 and 4 year olds dance and she's way better than any of my students! :) Keep it up Monica! :)
