Time Out Memory

I really don't want to forget this experience. Monica was jumping on the couch and Ryan told her to stop. She didn't listen, so I put her in time out.

Picture this:

Monica's nose is against the wall.

The theme to "George Lopez" is playing in the background.

Without missing a beat Monica stretches her right leg, points her toes and taps her foot on the floor.
Then she steps back in.

Then she stretches her left leg, points her toes and taps the floor again.

Repeat with right foot.

Repeat with left foot.

Ryan: "Monica! No dancing in time out!"

Fun in February

February is almost over and no matter how much I love the Valentine's pictures, it's time to update.
We couldn't afford getting professional pics when Leah was born, so now, at 7 months, I finally took pictures of our hands. I even got her tiny feet in there too!

The sky and moon the night before my birthday. It was beautiful!
Leah is loving bathtime! And no, your eyes aren't going bad, the water really is dark. Monica got some fun bathtime water color-changers and she dumped them ALL out and it made a dark bluish-purple.
Monica's idea of "popsicles". I opened the fridge one morning and found these pencil stuffed socks piled neatly in a row. Monica was chilling them so we could "have ice cream after lunch." Cute.

We went to Explora with Jodi, her kids and her friend, Carrie. We had never been there before so it was a lot fun. We'll have to go again another time!

Our little model. She's such a natural!

Jesse controlling the water fountain.

Nick and Hayley hamming it up.

A Valentine's Day family picture.
We went to the zoo on President's Day. Monica loved it and I think Leah just enjoyed being out of the house. I'm not seriously crazy with Leah's hat. It was a beautiful day, low 60's, with a breeze, and Leah had an ear infection. So she had that hat because I was protecting her ears. See? I really am a good mom sometimes.
We caught the polar bear feeding time and it was AWESOME!

Wrestling sea lions. These guys were going at it! Apparently that was the weekend to go to the zoo. Uncle David and Aunty Sarah said the day after we went, the gorillas and monkeys were going at it too! So all in all, February has been a great month!

Valentine's Pictures

Two nights ago, I had a wild idea to make valentines for family. So I threw some clothes on the girls and we had a mini photo shoot. It probably would have gone better if I didn't do it at the last minute and had made sure that Leah was HAPPY before I starting snapping the pictures. All things considered, I think we made it out with a few gems. Add playing around with the special effects button on the Image Zone and I think they turned out great!

My Bucket List

Since I begin my 28th year today, (yes I just turned 27!) I thought I would make this year's bucket list. Just so I can keep track of what I want to do and see if it actually happens. As it happens, there are even a few things that are on my Life's Bucket List that are in the works right now. So this is my "list". Some things I know won't be finished this year, but they are a goal to work towards.

My Bucket List
Read the Book of Mormon cover to cover with my family
Go to Greece
Run a marathon
See the Boston Pops on the 4th of July
Participate in a Triathlon
Write a book and illustrate it
Record a CD
Write my music out for publication
Go back to school
Get debt free
Lose 20 pounds
Donate hair to Locks of Love.

I actually have a few birthday pics to post, but that will have to wait til tonight after the day is over. :)

Monica sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star....in Chinese?

I couldn't help but laugh at Monica's version of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Her "language" sounds like it could be a Native American chant or some kind of Oriental twist on the tune. I think she actually might be thinking she is speaking Spanish. She says "chica" in there at some point. She counts her numbers most often with "uno, cinco, seis, ocho, focho, cocho, wacho"...etc if it ends in 'acho' or 'ocho' she thinks it's a Spanish number! HEE HEE!

Whatever language she is speaking, Leah got a serious kick out of her big sister. You can see the awe and admiration already starting! "Oooh, Monica is bilingual. Maybe if I smile really big at her she'll teach me how to talk!"

P.S. That's Mozart Mouse she is dancing in front of Leah!
