Easter 2010

We actually had to wake the girls up to get them going for Easter morning! They had played hard the night before so they crashed hard.

We started a tradition, since I blew it last year with Monica, that the girls fill their baskets with plastic eggs and leave them in a basket for the Easter Bunny to fill and hide for them. It made it easier to explain why the last year's plastic Easter eggs were out in the garage!

It was Leah's first year being able to hunt for the eggs, and she had fun!!

The sun was pretty bright in the morning, so this was the best shot outside of all the loot.

Later, we went to Nana and Papa's house and the girls all played together on the upstairs patio when we went to see the new house.

Oh Figaro, How Do We Love Thee?

Let me count the ways...

We love our beautiful Figaro!
And she loves the girls, particularly Monica at this time.
Leah still has "Lenny" tendencies...

Let's Try This Again...

I know that I am skipping posting some important pics (Easter, the month of April in general, etc) but I thought I would officially blog about our biggest recent news and that is that we are pregnant once again! After the excitement and the following let down of finding out we were prego and then not prego 5 days later, in February, I am still a little hesitant to get too excited. But there are a few things that are spurring me on and becoming reassurances.

First of all there are the head-splitting headaches. I rarely get headaches...which is hard to do in a desert. But somehow I manage to stay just hydrated enough to avoid them. HcG (the pregnancy hormone) does many mighty wonders to women's bodies, and for me, that means headaches. Luckily, I seem to recall them going away as I neared my second trimester with both Monica and Leah. I know, I know, every pregnancy is different...but some things can be constant, right?

Second- there is the nausea. I don't remember it being this bad before, but when I sit down and my stomach churns, I have to appreciate it because it reminds me, yes I am still pregnant. There is still a little peanut sized alien sprouting limbs and getting comfy and cozy. Hopefully the nausea holds with the headaches, because it left early on with the girls too.

Third-  is simply time. I took my pregnancy test in February before I'd even missed a full cycle yet, so my body was basically just debating whether or not it was gonna work. This time, I waited til I was late by 3 weeks. So I feel like that holds a little more promise for us. I think I'll be getting more pumped up on May 21st when we hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time.

So YAY! Little baby peanut, I'm excited for this journey! I promise to eat well, so you grow healthy and strong, but I also promise to indulge in Double Stuft Golden Oreos from time to time, too, so you don't miss out on the good stuff...

The First Day of Spring

We woke up to a surprising First Day of Spring morning...

So we took the girls to the Taylor Ranch Library for a little bit of sledding.
We got there kind of late, so there wasn't a whole lot of snow left, but hey...we made it!
Ryan loves his girls!
Ryan and Leah went for a fast ride where both had a blast!
So I thought it would be great to take a turn with Monica.
The only problem?
Leah climbed to the top of the hill and was devastated that we left her there.
Which is why this picture is so heartbreaking...
But she got over it.
This pic was was only about 1 minute later.
Leah made it halfway up the hill pulling the sled.
The girls played hard and had a blast!
It was a great ride!!

 Leah loved the swing!

We had some good fun together. Jessy and Melissa were huge helps and Mikey was so fun to have. I think I could have been a little more fun, but unfortunately the weekend fell on the week of midterms and Ryan's drill weekend as well. I'm always a little on edge when Ryan isn't around, but add midterms and trying to find time to study and I wasn't as relaxed as I could have been. But it all worked out and Emily came and hung out with us a lot and it was great to have her and her kiddos too!
