The girls can get creative, especially when Ryan is home!
Leah likes to rock out...

I love moments like these when I just look outside and the girls are playing so nicely together.
Monica is a pro at helping Leah get her Otter Pops.

One of my favorite memories from this point in time was when Ryan was gone training in Nebraska with the Reserves, and I took the girls dinner outside so they could eat out on the porch. I went back inside to get my plate and when I went back outside, the girls both had their heads bowed, arms folded, and Monica was saying a prayer for the food. It was sooooo sweet!

Christina and Lewis just moved to OK and sent the older kiddos back here with Mom and Dad for a few weeks, so I brought Ashley and Katie home with me to play for a few hours with the girls. Ashley and Monica were enjoying playing with the Polly's and Katie and Leah opted to snuggle up and watch "Spongebob"!

Ballet

Monica started ballet in the Spring, but then Miss Sarah got really sick.
These are the last pictures of Monica in ballet before classes went on break.
Poor girl inherited my lack of flexibility, but I think she does great despite that!

Easter 2010

We actually had to wake the girls up to get them going for Easter morning! They had played hard the night before so they crashed hard.

We started a tradition, since I blew it last year with Monica, that the girls fill their baskets with plastic eggs and leave them in a basket for the Easter Bunny to fill and hide for them. It made it easier to explain why the last year's plastic Easter eggs were out in the garage!

It was Leah's first year being able to hunt for the eggs, and she had fun!!

The sun was pretty bright in the morning, so this was the best shot outside of all the loot.

Later, we went to Nana and Papa's house and the girls all played together on the upstairs patio when we went to see the new house.

Oh Figaro, How Do We Love Thee?

Let me count the ways...

We love our beautiful Figaro!
And she loves the girls, particularly Monica at this time.
Leah still has "Lenny" tendencies...

Let's Try This Again...

I know that I am skipping posting some important pics (Easter, the month of April in general, etc) but I thought I would officially blog about our biggest recent news and that is that we are pregnant once again! After the excitement and the following let down of finding out we were prego and then not prego 5 days later, in February, I am still a little hesitant to get too excited. But there are a few things that are spurring me on and becoming reassurances.

First of all there are the head-splitting headaches. I rarely get headaches...which is hard to do in a desert. But somehow I manage to stay just hydrated enough to avoid them. HcG (the pregnancy hormone) does many mighty wonders to women's bodies, and for me, that means headaches. Luckily, I seem to recall them going away as I neared my second trimester with both Monica and Leah. I know, I know, every pregnancy is different...but some things can be constant, right?

Second- there is the nausea. I don't remember it being this bad before, but when I sit down and my stomach churns, I have to appreciate it because it reminds me, yes I am still pregnant. There is still a little peanut sized alien sprouting limbs and getting comfy and cozy. Hopefully the nausea holds with the headaches, because it left early on with the girls too.

Third-  is simply time. I took my pregnancy test in February before I'd even missed a full cycle yet, so my body was basically just debating whether or not it was gonna work. This time, I waited til I was late by 3 weeks. So I feel like that holds a little more promise for us. I think I'll be getting more pumped up on May 21st when we hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time.

So YAY! Little baby peanut, I'm excited for this journey! I promise to eat well, so you grow healthy and strong, but I also promise to indulge in Double Stuft Golden Oreos from time to time, too, so you don't miss out on the good stuff...
